Motorbases / Motormounts - Vee Belt Tensioning Technology
Torsional Spring Technology
Leverlink incorporate as an integral part of their design a rubber torsional spring. This spring developed by Hermann Neidhart who registered a number of patents in the late 1940's, provides torsional forces to maintain constant vee belt tension.
Vee Belt Tensioning Technology – called "Leverlink" will reduce the risk of strain injury when fitting or re-tensioning Vee Belts. Leverlink has the best range and designs of auto-tensioning for electric motors designed and manufactured in Australia Leverlink® are designed for electric motors, to AUTO-TENSION Vee Belt drives and are available in NEMA and METRIC frame sizes - any size and kW can be accomodated.
Benefits
In addition, Leverlink® will provide the following benefits:
- Safety - eliminate the risk of strain injury associated with tensioning large drives e.g. large motor/pump combinations.
- Ease of Use - one man with a rattle gun or ratchet is able to adjust tension belts or replace belts with ease.
- Time Saving - the single "ONE TOUCH" tensioning system allows belt changing and adjustments in minutes without the need to realign pulleys.
- Belt & Pulley Life - are both extended dramatically due to correct belt tension.
We design Leverlinks to extend belt and pulley life, simplify the changing and re-tensioning of Vee Belts, and reduce the human effort required, particularly with larger motors. The modular rubber torsion spring(s) maintain Vee belt tension. Pulleys and shafts remain aligned, when changing or re-tensioning Vee belts. Safety has been a prime consideration at all times. A risk assessment will confirm a reduction in hazards, when compared with conventional methods of tensioning Vee belts, particularly on large drives.
Proven in Hostile Environments
With our extensive experience in SOLUTIONS TO VEE BELT TENSIONING, particularly in Coal, Heavy Mining and Quarrying, we have developed technology which will allow efficient operation in the harshest environments. Special protective coatings have been developed to minimize the effects of corrosion.
Motor Sizes and Mounting Positions
We can supply standard or custom Leverlinks for electric motors up to 600kw. We have designs to suit your application. All mounting positions can be accommodated.
One Touch Tensioning
The 4G, HA, VL, VU and VD models are designed with ONE TOUCH tensioning systems – Belts can be changed or re-tensioned in minutes using a rattle gun or ratchet. Shafts remain aligned and pulleys faced at all times.
Leverlink Rubber Torsion Springs
Rubber Torsion Spring(s) are integrated into all Leverlink® products to provide torsional forces to maintain the correct belt tension. For more information on our range of Rubber Torsion springs, contact our sales or engineering departments. The Rubber Torsion springs are pre-loaded mechanically, against the belt pull, to maintain the correct belt tension as the belts stretch and wear. Check out our drive cost analysis here
Leverlink Verti-Lift
Vert-lift® Leverlinks are designed with two rubber torsion springs, allowing it to operate in a parallelogram, which is ideal for overhead drives of all types. Side plates are designed to fit directly to your pump.
Leverlink 4G-Series
All of the 4G-Series are pivoted, with a single rubber torsion spring providing torsional force to maintain correct belt tension. Vibrating screen drives are particularly suitable, as this model allows the electric motor (drive pulley) to follow the action of the screen during resonance. The 4G-Series have a wide range of mounting positions – see here or contact sales@leverlink.com.au
